A zoo was forced to find a canine surrogate parent for a tiger cub after its birth mother rejected it. Keepers at Wuhan Zoo in eastern China’s Hubei province had to separate the cub from its mother Xiu Xiu after she killed three of her other cubs. By chance the zoo had a performing dog that had just gave birth to several puppies, making her a perfect surrogate mother for the little tiger cub, who is now thriving
